Harvesting the experience…

Safari Herbs & Spices

Our Impact

Traceability

Every package tells a story—from seed lot to shipping container, verified and auditable.

Supply chain integrity

Visibility you can verify

At our Naromoru farm—160 km north of Nairobi at 1,900 metres on the foothills of Mount Kenya—traceability is how we protect buyers, growers, and consumers alike. Every carton of fresh herbs leaving Safari Herbs carries a digital and paper trail that links field activity to export documentation.

Whether you import into the EU, UK, or UAE, you receive evidence of origin, handling, and quality—not marketing claims. Our systems are designed for recall readiness, regulatory review, and the transparency your customers increasingly demand.

Batch identity

One lot, one story

Each harvest receives a unique batch identifier at the point of picking. That code follows the herbs through grading, washing, packing, on-farm refrigeration, and loading onto cold trucks—never mixing with another lot unless deliberately commingled under documented rules.

Batch records capture plot or greenhouse block, variety, harvest date and time, crew supervisor, and post-harvest treatments. When herbs are combined for export, parent batches remain referenced so downstream partners can still reconstruct origin.

  • Unique batch IDs assigned at harvest
  • Plot-level mapping for outdoor and indoor production
  • Parent–child batch linking for packed consignments
  • Digital and physical label reconciliation audits

Cold chain & data

Temperature never lies

Fresh herbs lose value quickly when the cold chain breaks. We harvest, grade, pack, and refrigerate on the farm before dispatch in refrigerated trucks, with procedures aligned to importing-country requirements and our Global G.A.P. food-safety programme.

Temperature and humidity readings are logged at critical control points—cold room, pre-load checks, and handoff to logistics partners. Exceptions trigger documented corrective actions before product ships, protecting your brand from border delays or quality disputes.

End-to-end

The traceability journey

From seed to shelf, four connected stages keep every lot accountable.

Grow & record

Input logs, plot maps, and variety records tie cultivation to eventual batch codes for indoor and outdoor blocks.

Harvest & tag

Pick teams assign batch IDs, weights, and quality grades at harvest before herbs enter the packhouse.

Pack & chill

Grading, packing, and refrigeration on-farm with lab checks on moisture, oils, and microbial safety where required.

Export & prove

KEPHIS phytosanitary clearance, organic certificates, and customer documentation packs close the loop.

For buyers

Documentation you can audit

Wholesale partners receive traceability summaries tailored to retailer, food-service, or regulatory needs.

Recall readiness

Isolated batch protocols let you quarantine specific lots within hours, with forward and backward trace across the supply chain.

Organic integrity

Transaction certificates and handling records demonstrate chain of custody for certified organic herbs.

Market access

EU, UK, and UAE import rules are supported with KEPHIS plant-health documentation and HCDA export alignment.
